Blood Fury — Short cooldown, large burst window. The best Rogue racial here.
Hardiness — Passive stun resistance — always on, nothing to forget.
Berserking — Attack speed when things are going badly.
Regeneration — Real survivability, better paired with a regen buff.
Will of the Forsaken — One of the best PvP racials in the game for a CC target.
Shadow Resistance — Blunts Priests and Warlocks.
Cannibalize — A weak free bandage — usable in stealth.
Stoneform — Counters bleeds from Rogue, Warrior and Hunter, and adds armour briefly.
Frost Resistance — Useful against Frost Mages, little else.
Find Treasure — Twinking is expensive; every edge helps.
Escape Artist — Counters the CC of four other classes.
Engineering Specialization — Access to gadgets other races can't reach yet.
Perception — Spot other Rogues and Druids while they can't spot you.
Sword Specialization — Passive hit chance if you run swords.
Quickness — Flat dodge increase.
Shadowmeld — No cooldown share with Stealth — restealth instantly, and eat or drink safely.
The Stormrider's chest, gloves and boots bind on pickup, so only a Leatherworker can wear them.
The Pristine Sash binds on pickup, so only a Tailor can wear it.
The EZ-Thro Bronze Mortar is Bind on Equip and needs no skill to use, so buy it.
Fishing — The Lucky Fishing Hat needs a point of Fishing to wear, and it comes from a rare fish hand-in.
First Aid — Bandages heal without mana between fights.
Cooking — Only for the Curiously Tasty Omelet's Well Fed bonus.
All fifteen points in Restoration: a faster Healing Wave, Tidal Focus for cheaper heals and more spell hit, Mindfulness for regeneration while casting and Healing Focus so your heals finish under pressure.
Splits Restoration and Enhancement: Mindfulness and Tidal Focus for cheap, accurate spells, plus Earth's Grasp, Thundering Strikes and Mental Dexterity for a Shaman who also fights in melee.
One battle and one guardian elixir at a time.
One potion per fight; they share a cooldown.
This Shaman heals with a shield on: about 235 healing and 175 spell damage, 4% spell hit and over 1100 armor. You keep a flag carrier or a teammate alive with Healing Wave, drop totems, and still Earth Shock and Purge when needed.
Mindfulness is the talent that makes this work: it keeps part of your regeneration going while you cast. Over a long fight it gives back more than Shamanistic Focus saves, unless you spam shocks and Lightning Shield.
The Stormrider's chest, gloves and boots bind on pickup (Leatherworking) and so does the Pristine Sash (Tailoring), so this set needs both. Everything else is quests, dungeons or the Horde honor vendor.
#showtooltip Healing Wave /cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][] Healing Wave
#showtooltip Purge /cast [@focus,harm,exists] Purge; Purge
| Situation | Cast | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A teammate is losing health | Healing Wave | Your heal; Healing Focus keeps it going through hits. |
| An enemy casts a heal | Earth Shock | Interrupts and locks that school. |
| An enemy has a buff | Purge | Strip shields, heals over time and Arcane Intellect. |
| Melee chases you or a carrier | Earthbind Totem | Slows everyone near it. |
| Fear or sleep on the team | Tremor Totem | Removes it every few seconds. |
| Several enemies near your totem | Fire Nova | Damage around your fire totem. |
Your job is keeping people up. Between heals, use cheap ranks of Earth Shock to interrupt, Purge buffs and refresh totems rather than spending mana on damage.
The 4% spell hit on this set means your interrupts and Purges land. Don't trade it away for raw healing.
